Last Wednesday I have at hand one of the new MacBook Air. I have not touched since my MacBook Pro is six months. RIP.
I know it sounds weird. Or, in their exaggeration. But it is not. When I wrote my first thought was a few hours. They are also outside the home. But now that I have. I have almost all the places that have been used for nearly a week. There is no doubt in my mind that my MacBook Pro as my go in the car it replaces.
But the crazy thing here. Not only the size of the thing I like (I use the 13-inch model) - and this is great - its speed. Learn how to work in less than 15 seconds. My iMac i7 with 8 GB of RAM for about 2 minutes. My MacBook Pro i7 takes at least 30-45 seconds, and has an SSD.
The applications seem to load faster. Transfer files faster. It runs in about 3 seconds. Macworld first benchmarks. They do not lie. Just screaming.
And the speed, I mean "power." It is interesting to note that for the first time I have a fried, this MacBook Air is underpowered. At all. Over the past 6 months I used a combination of an iMac and a MacBook Pro i7 i7. As clock speed of the processor and the memory size, both should be much faster than air. For some tasks, which are, no doubt. But for most of what I did last week - which is my normal work and play habits - I can not really say that I am aware of the difference. Certainly surprised me.
Macworld first look behind the numbers, at least in part, as a declaration of insanity. I reference the 13-inch MacBook Pro 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM and a disk of 128 GB of flash memory. His research has the best 13-inch MacBook Pro with the fastest Core 2 Duo processor and double the RAM. And not far from the Pro model i5.
